Dental Crowns and Bridges Brentwood
Dental Crowns and Bridges Brentwood I had experienced a broken crown and my regular Dentist was unable to see me. Dr. Alkhoury was able to get me in right away. Like most people, I hate going to the Dentist but Dr. Alkhoury and his staff quickly put my fears to rest. The first thing that caught my eye was all the awards that he had received. Next were the "Best of Brentwood" Certificates that were hanging on the walls. And the most impressive, were all the paintings that Dr. Alkhoury does in his spare time. What I learned about Dr. Alkhoury was not only did he have a great sense of humor, but he is as much a perfectionist with Dentistry as he is with his paintings. He treats each patient like they are a work of art. Of the three visits I have had with Dr. Alkhoury, I never experienced any discomfort and my mouth has felt better than it has in years. I have since switched Dentists. Dr. Alkhoury is my primary care Dentist now. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for exceptional care. Even if you hate going to the Dentist.
Thanks Doc! Dental Crowns and Bridges Brentwood ~ Lee N.
Crowns are fixed prostheses used to restore a broken tooth, a tooth with significant decay, or an endodontically-treated tooth (one with a root canal). In some cases, a crown may be an elective cosmetic procedure to re-align; or to change the shape, size, and color of a tooth.

Because we have replaced a number of failed CEREC crowns installed by other dental practices, we use a zirconium material. We really like to work with zirconium and have had great success with it. Zirconium-oxide is very strong and suitable for all crowns.

The crown usually involves two visits to our office. It begins with a consultation and explanation of the recommended procedure. We numb the area, take x-rays of the damaged tooth, and make an impression from a malleable material.

We talk with you at length to determine just how you want the restoration to look. The artistry of our practice hinges on understanding your vision. Then we send that information off to the lab along with your impressions. You go home with a temporary crown for a few weeks.

When your permanent crown has been fabricated, it is fitted and cemented at a follow-up session. And your beautiful smile is back!

A dental bridge is another type of fixed prosthesis. A bridge is used to replace a missing tooth, normally at the front or back of the mouth. To install a bridge, we must prep the adjacent teeth (basically, crown those healthy teeth) in order to use them as an anchor for the replacement of the missing tooth.

Bridges are no more economical than implants, but are less invasive. So a bridge may be more appropriate for a patient with certain medical conditions preventing oral surgery.

You can count on Dr. Alkhoury and the staff at Brentwood Family Dental to guide you toward the right procedure for outstanding results.
